Chemical Peel

The Perfect Derma Peel is a revolutionary peel that will transform your skin into younger, healthier looking skin in just one week!  The Perfect Derma Peel can be used on all skin types and requires no pre-peel skin preparation.  The Perfect Derma Peel process takes less than 15 minutes and is virtually pain free.  The Perfect Derma Peel is a medical grade peel, which must be applied by a trained professional.

The Perfect Derma Peel combines 12% or less of the following:  TCA, Phenol, Salicylic Acid, Glutathione, Kojic Acid, Retinoic Acid and a cocktail of vitamins.  The pH is between 1.3 and 1.4.  The anti-oxidant Glutathione neutralizes the harmful effects of free radicals and actually slows down the aging process and prevents wrinkles.  Kojic Acid is a powerful lightening agent and proven to increase collagen and elastin production, resulting in skin that is brighter and tighter.  TCA, Phenol and Retinoic Acid reduce wrinkles and correct pigment problems, while Salicylic Acid exfoliates the skin and reduces inflammation.  Alone the ingredients are powerful, but the combination produces AMAZING results.

The following are just some of the AMAZING results from The Perfect Derma Peel:

  • Improve the overall tone and texture of your skin
  • Lighten and brighten your skin
  • Remove or reduce sun damage and age spots
  • Reduce pore size and soften fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reduce or eliminate hyper-pigmentation and acne scars
  • Improve acne skin conditions and melasma
  • Stimulate the production of collagen resulting in firmer skin
  • Slow down the aging process and prevent wrinkles

You should not receive the Perfect Derma Peel if any of the following apply:

  • Pregnancy or lactation (breastfeeding)
  • Aspirin, hydroquinone or phenol allergies
  • Accutane use within the past 6 months

Anti-Oxidant - Neutralizes the damage by free radicals, rejuvenate and produce younger healthier looking skin.

Skin Whitening Agent - Blocks the biosynthesis of melanin, which is the cause of dark skin.

Glutathione is an important anti-oxidant.  It neutralizes the harmful effects of free radicals, hence can slow down the skin’s aging process, prevent wrinkles, age spots, etc.  It rejuvenates and produces younger looking skin.  Glutathione has been widely used in Asia for its effect on whitening skin tone; primarily due to the fact that Glutathione can block the production of melanin, which is the culprit for skin darkening.

Kojic Acid

Skin Lightening Agent

  1. A mushroom extract widely used as a skin lightening and brightening agent.  It has been used to treat hyperpigmentation problems like age spots, freckles and melasma.
  2. Many claim that it’s safer and has fewer side effects when used on skin as compared to Hydroquinone.
  3. Skin sensitivity and later allergic contact dermatitis due to regular and extended use may occur.  Topical steroid can help if it does become a problem.  (*maximum concentration recommended is 1%; most skin lightening products contain 0.2% for reduced chances of side effects)

FAQs about The Perfect Derma Peel

Q:  How does The Perfect Derma Peel compare to other peels?

A: The Perfect Derma Peel combines intense ingredients with effective acids to deliver outstanding results after one treatment. This unique formula allows for an increase in lifting of fine lines and wrinkles as well as a lightening of Melasma, sun damage and hyperpigmentation.  The Perfect Derma Peel is a non-invasive relatively pain free treatment that entails only 5-7 days of peeling.

Q:  How many treatments are necessary for visible improvement?

A:  After one treatment of The Perfect Derma Peel, overall skin tone and complexion will appear smooth, glowing and fresh.  Depending on skin conditions, multiple treatments may be necessary for desired results.  A series of 2-3 treatments applied once every 4 weeks will allow for optimal results for more severe skin conditions such as melasma and active acne.

Q:  How long will my results last?

A:  As long as the skin is maintained with proper skin care products like The Perfect A, The Perfect C, and The Perfect Bleaching Cream the improved results will last.  We recommend 2-3 treatments of The Perfect Derma Peel per year to sustain desired results for regular maintenance and rejuvenation.

Q:  What skin types respond well to The Perfect Derma Peel?

A:  All skin types (Fitzpatrick 1-6) are safe to treat and will reveal considerable improvements from The Perfect Derma Peel.

Q:  What type of pre-conditioning is required?

A:  The Perfect Derma Peel requires no preconditioning of the skin prior to treatment. Only those patients who use Accutane must stop usage 3 months prior to treatment in order to achieve desired results.

Q:  Does The Perfect Derma Peel burn?

A:  The patient may feel a slight stinging or tingling sensation, which will subside after just a few seconds. Numbing takes place once the first pass of The Perfect Derma Peel solution is applied.  A fan or cool breeze may be used for the comfort of the patient.

Q:  How long will the application process take?

A:  The Perfect Derma Peel application only takes 15 minutes to administer.

Q:  How severe is the peeling and what is the duration of the peeling process?

A:  The amount of peeling skin associated with the Perfect Derma Peel is mainly a sloughing of thin sheets of epidermis skin that begins around day 3 and generally is completed by day 6 or 7.

Q:  What will I look like during The Perfect Derma Peel treatment process and post peel?

A:  Immediately after the peel has been applied the skin will either appear red, like a sunburn, or darker.  On day 3, peeling will begin. The Perfect Derma Peel Moisturizer will reduce the visibility of peeling by hydrating.  By day 6 or 7, the peeling process should be complete and the results are visibly astonishing.

Q:  Will my daily routine be affected after the treatment?

A:  Normal activities may be resumed immediately post peel.  We only recommend avoiding heavy exercise and excessive sweating during the peeling process.

Q:  Can makeup be worn post peel?

A:  The day the peel is applied, the patient should not put any makeup or other products on his or her face post peel.  The only exception is Oxygenetix post-procedure foundation.  Any makeup may be worn on day 2 and thereafter of the peeling process, although most patients choose not to do so.

Patient Post-Peel Instructions

DAY 1 – 2

  • The treated area will feel tight and may appear slightly darker.
  • The peel solution should remain on the treated area for at least 6 hours.
  • During the first 6 hours, do not wash, touch, rub, or apply make-up to the treated area.
  • No makeup should be applied on Day 1 (unless it is Oxygenetix post-procedure foundation).
  • If you are not experiencing any irritation or discomfort, the peel solution can remain on until your evening cleansing or overnight.
  • On evenings 1 and 2, gently wash and dry the treated area.  Vigorously apply the Post-Peel Treatment to the treated area.  Let dry thoroughly.  Leave the treatment on overnight, do not wash off.  Note:  For heavily damaged skin, have the patient leave peel solution on and apply first towelette (1 hour before bedtime) over peel solution and spend the night with both on overnight for a more intense result.
  • If you are experiencing any irritation or discomfort, apply a small amount of 1% or 2.5% hydrocortisone to the area (2-3 times daily) and/or use a cold compress against the irritated area for relief.
  • Do not use any moisturizing products on the treated area until peeling begins (usually day 3).
  • Avoid excessive sweating, sauna or heavy exercise during peel process.

DAY 3 – 5

  • Peeling generally begins on day 3.
  • After peeling begins, apply The Perfect Derma Peel Moisturizer (included in the patient home package) to the peeling areas to control the peeling and relieve the tightness.
  • Do not rub, pick, pull or “help” the peeling skin, let the peeling occur naturally.  Rubbing, picking, pulling or “helping” may cause scarring.  Dead skin can be carefully trimmed with small scissors.
  • Gently wash (Do Not Scrub) and dry the treated area morning and night, and apply The Perfect Derma Peel Moisturizer as needed.  A sunscreen of at least SPF 30 should be applied every 2 hours in sun exposure.  We recommend LUCA Max Sport SPF 30 Spray Mist.  If you experience any irritation or discomfort, apply 1% or 2.5% hydrocortisone to the area.

DAY 6 and After

  • The peeling process is generally complete.  Mild sloughing may still be occurring in some areas.
  • You may resume use of your normal skin care products unless otherwise advised by your medical professional.
  • If the treated area becomes irritated, wait until the sensitivity subsides.
  • Continue to protect your skin with a sunscreen containing at least SPF 30.
